Welcome to the course!

A sincere welcome to the health tech go-to-market bootcamp! This course is a 6-month-program designed for innovators, entrepreneurs and executives in healthcare ventures looking to up their game by solidifying a reality-checked and thus fundable go-to-market strategy.

Health tech is an extremely exciting and emerging field. Rock Health is reporting a doubling of activity in digital health IPOs in the past 2 years. McKinsey is talking about the "exponential" era of healthcare innovation. And yet, the recent track record of health tech innovation is mixed at best. Overall, health tech startups have an astonishingly high 5-year failure rate of 90%+.

Having worked as a business professional and executive in life science ventures for 12 years in various roles and across many regions, I have pitched and sold to big pharma, academia, major hospital chains, insurance companies, doctors, therapists, purchasers, entrepreneurs, and major investors in health care.

And let me tell you: It is hard! Healthcare isn't designed to welcome new challengers. It is a highly regulated, deconsolidated, often uncompetitive, and sometimes highly disfunctional industry. Compared to other industries, time to market for new innovation is much longer, regulatory requirements are substantial, and the funding and effort you need in order to become a self-sustaining business is huge.

But here is the good news: I firmly believe that the challenge is solvable by applying common sense and experience. And it is worth it. Because with due effort:

your innovation will reach patients around the globe. You will touch the lives of millions of people, and you will be able to make a real contribution to leave this world in a bit of a better shape.

I have designed this program following the painstaking analysis of my own experience in over 100 new product and service launches in health tech. Some of them ended up highly successful. Some of them were discontinued and are no longer available. And to paraphrase Edison: Every failed sales call, every discontinued project or stopped new product has been a tremendous opportunity to find out how it probably doesn't work. In other words: I had probably just about every sales and business development challenge fall on my feet at least once. Let me help you navigate this crazy world of health care, and put your innovation on a path for commercial success.

It is my distinct pleasure to work with you and I guarantee that the program will be worth your time and your investment many times over!
